Import and export restrictions of waste: procedures and control regimes for the shipment of waste, depending on the origin, destination and route of the shipment, the type of waste shipped and the type of treatment to be applied to the waste  at its destination.

The UK is notifying the extension of the import and export restrictions of waste by subjecting all e-waste, including non-hazardous e-waste, to the prior informed consent procedure. This implements the Basel Convention E-Waste Amendments which came into force 1 January 2025.
