Diamonds - Kimberley Process
National legal basis
Regulation 4MA of the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956. Regulation 9AA of the Customs (Prohibited Exports) Regulations 1958.
Administrative mechanism
Rough diamonds may only be imported from or exported to a country which is participating in the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme and must be accompanied by a Kimberley Process Certificate verifying the goods as free of conflict diamonds.
