Administrative mechanism
The Rice Stockpile Scheme (RSS) is operated under the Price Control (Rice) Order in the Price Control Act. The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) manages the rice stockpile while Singapore Food Agency (SFA) issues licenses for importers, processes import permits and enforces the import and stockpile obligations by importers.
