Import prohibition on fish caught by vessels listed on the UK’s Unregulated and Unreported (IUU) vessel list, or flying the flag of a non-cooperating country as defined in the Regulation to fight against Illegal, IUU fishing.

A restriction is created through the need for IUU fishing documentation (catch certificates, processing statements and/or evidence of storage) for imports of most fish and fishery products into the UK. There is an import prohibition on 1) fish caught by vessels whose flag state have not provided appropriate notification to the UK, 2) a vessel that is on the UK IUU vessel list, or 3) from a vessel flying the flag of a non-cooperating country as defined in the Regulation to fight against Illegal, IUU fishing, which is assimilated Council Regulation (EU) No. 1005/2008.
