Descripción general: Temporary export prohibition of unprocessed timber
Fundamento jurídico nacional: The Law of Ukraine “On amendments to the Law of Ukraine on the specifics of state regulation of business activities related to the implementation and export of timber” regarding the temporary export prohibition of unprocessed timber of 9 April 2015 № 325-VIII. Entered into force on 10 July 2015.

The Law of Ukraine “On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine concerning preservation of Ukrainian forests and preventing the illegal export of unprocessed timber” of 6 September 2018 № 2531-VIII. Entered into force on 1 January 2019.
Mecanismo administrativo: State agency for forest resources.

Prohibition of unprocessed timber under HS 4403 came into force from 01.11.2015 for tree species, except pine trees, and from 01.01.2017 for pine. Export is prohibited for the period of 10 years.

For the period of export prohibition of unprocessed timber under HS 4403 the restriction on domestic consumption of local unprocessed timber in the volume of 25 million cubic meters per year is established.
