Other than the importation of used or second-hand aircraft imported under certain circumstances, including:
- Imported from the US
- Imported for military purposes
- Forfeited or confiscated for an offense under customs laws
- Temporarily imported by a person who is not a resident of Canada for use by that person in Canada
- For the use of the Governor General
- Property of a foreign country and remain property of a foreign country for the use of nationals of designated countries employed in defence establishments of those countries in Canada
